The home of Wolfram Bordeaux is situated in the picturesque village of Emsworth Southern England.
Myself Paulette and my husband, share our home with 10 Dogue de Bordeaux, our family of Westies, 7 British Short-hair cats and 4 parrots!....................... MAD I know, but I could not bear to put them in kennels I wanted them to be with me all the time, they are my big babies, it is great fun, but hard work, especially when it rains, I have to dry 40 wet large Bordeaux paws, and too many to count tiny paws, I told you I was mad........ and now you know it...!!!
On Christmas Eve in 2001, we lost our beloved Bullmastiff Martha, aged eleven and three quarters, it was decided then that we would not get another big dog, as we had just had our first grandson and thought we would be best sticking to the smaller dogs...... famous last words! I saw an advertisement for a litter of Dogue de Bordeaux puppies and asked my husband if I could view them. The answer I got was a resounding NO ..... I went secretly anyway...... the only puppy left was their pick of litter that they were planning to keep but unfortunately their other dogs did not like the new intruder, a very lively 18 week old puppy. It's a cliche I know but it really was love at first sight, she came bounding into the room drool flying, straight onto my lap, she was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, I came home full of enthusiasm and asked my husband if I could please, please, please have her, another resounding NO! That afternoon, ignoring the NO’s, as one does, collected the puppy! By the time my husband returned from work she was safely asleep in her new basket, as his reward my husband was allowed to name her, he chose the name Clarice. We needn't have worried about getting another big dog, Clarice and James my grandson get on like a house on fire. The rest I suppose is history......!!!
We mated Clarice to the wonderful Temple Felson, she had nine puppies, I asked my husband if I could keep one........yet another resounding NO,NO,NO .......I KEPT TWO!!!! Humphrey and Muriel.
Over the last few years I have campaigned both Humphrey and Muriel at the shows, achieving wonderful results as you will see on their personal pages (once all completed)............last year Muriel had her first litter to Nickannan Fire...........from which I kept all 5, 3 little girls and 2 little boys........I just couldn’t part with them.......my husband still says ‘NO’, but so obviously in my ears ‘NO’ once it hits the sound barrier means a resounding ‘YES’..................the story continues within........please see our Dogues personal pages for more info on each, their breeding details and Show Results.......
Please be kind enough to sign my Guest Book before you leave........and come back soon for an update on my life with 10 indoor Bordeaux!!!...............
Wonders will never cease, I really, truly, was NOT going to ask to keep a puppy this time, it’s always the same old answer........well, this time I was actually asked, “which one are you keeping?”.....Never one to miss an opportunity I said, “this one.....this one.....and this one...!!!”
Welcome...VALENTINO!!!
